Motorola launches three new flip devices in the razr family: the razr 70 ultra, razr 70 plus, and razr 70. The models will be available in the Benelux starting mid-May.
Motorola is expanding its razr family with three new models: razr 70, razr 70 plus, and razr 70 ultra. The brand launched its first flip devices in 2022. Motorola is now on its fifth generation with this razr 70 series. While the razr 50 devices had several shortcomings, Motorola proved it has earned its place in the flip phone market with the razr 60.
The new razr 70 devices feature the signature flip design and, according to Motorola, are designed for users who value flexibility and style without compromising on performance or battery life. The razr 70 ultra, razr 70 plus, and razr 70 are available in various Pantone colors and will hit the shelves starting mid-May.
Design and displays
All three devices retain the razr series’ signature flip design, featuring a compact form factor and personalization options. The razr 70 ultra and razr 70 plus feature a 4-inch external display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. This allows users to view notifications and apps, send messages, and interact via hand gestures without unfolding the device.
The internal display of the razr 70 ultra is a 6.96-inch Extreme Amoled screen with over a billion colors, Pantone validation, and an HDR peak brightness of 5,000 nits. The razr 70 plus also features a 6.90-inch Amoled screen with Dolby Vision, while the razr 70 offers a slightly smaller 3.63-inch external display and a 6.90-inch internal screen.
Cameras with AI
The razr 70 ultra features a triple camera system with a 50MP main camera, a 50MP Ultra-wide + Macro Vision lens, and a 50MP internal camera. Thanks to AI features such as scene detection, auto-framing, and Pantone-validated colors, users can optimize both photos and videos for various conditions.
The razr 70 plus and razr 70 are equipped with a dual 50MP camera system and a 32MP internal camera for selfies and video calls. With Flex View modes, the devices can serve as a tripod for group photos or creative shots. AI-driven features are also present here to enhance photos and adjust them to the user’s preferences.
Performance, Battery, and Sustainability
The razr 70 ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, with a 5,000 mAh battery and fast charging up to 68W. This provides more than 36 hours of use on a single charge. The razr 70 plus uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, a 4,500mAh battery, and 45W fast charging. The razr 70 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7450X processor and a 4,800mAh battery with 30W fast charging.
The razr 70 ultra has a suggested retail price of 1,399.99 euros including VAT (16/512GB) and is available in Orient Blue and Cocoa with a natural wood veneer finish. The Motorola razr 70 plus is priced at 1,149.99 euros including VAT (12/512GB) and is available in the earthy Mountain View shade. Finally, the Motorola razr 70 is available in Sporting Green and Bright White for a suggested retail price of 869.99 euros including VAT (8/256GB).
