Soon you will be able to see additional information from colleagues and externals in Microsoft Teams thanks to the built-in LinkedIn link with profile information.
Microsoft Teams is an ongoing construction site that the manufacturer continues to work on in the midst of the shift to hybrid working. With that comes a feature starting next month where you can view contact information right from LinkedIn within Teams. That can be useful for getting to know new colleagues, but the same goes for external people you chat or video call with.
According to the Microsoft roadmap, there will be a separate tab with LinkedIn information and the feature will be rolled out in March if everything stays on schedule. Both the web version and the desktop version should both expect the feature.
In addition to LinkedIn, integration with OneDrive for Business continues to be improved. For example, you will soon be able to find all your Teams files in a new segment. Under the name “My Teams,” you can find all the files you’ve ever shared.
Extra handy: when you visit a SharePoint Web site, you can see which Teams files are associated with the site. Both features are planned for April.
Microsoft Teams continues to evolve at breakneck speed. For example, since the beginning of this year, you can chat between personal and business accounts and the platform finally supports end-to-end encryption. For SMEs, there is now also Microsoft Teams Essentials as a standalone solution. Microsoft shared earlier this year that the platform has 270 million monthly active users, an increase of 20 million compared to the summer of 2021.
