Logitech makes video calls less tiring with PiP view of meeting rooms

Logitech RightSight 2

The latest software update for the Logitech Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini allows you to transmit two images in a video stream thanks to RightSight 2 technology.

A video conversation from your home office is personal because you are the only one in front of the camera. As soon as you step into a meeting room with multiple people, everything is presented a lot less appealing to the other virtual participants. Often you get an overall view of the room, not the people in close-up, or just the other way around. With RightSight 2, Logitech wants to change that.

In the latest software update (CollabOS 1.5) for Logitech Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini, you can enable Speaker View. This activates a picture-in-picture (PiP) view where you see the entire meeting room in a small separate video stream while the primary image focuses on the speaker.

The active speaker is framed using the primary camera that moves and zooms along as speakers change. The 150-degree wide-angle camera captures the room and ensures remote participants can see and hear everything during the meeting. IT administrators have the flexibility to switch between the new feature and the old one that only zooms in on active participants without PiP.

The innovations within RightSight 2 are compatible with Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms’ Smart Gallery technology. IT administrators can install the software update for free through Logitech Sync, the general management platform for professional peripherals.

IT administrators can also enable the feature through partner platforms such as Zoom Device Management and Teams Admin Center.

Logitech Sync received an important update two weeks ago. From now on, you can manage not only meeting rooms but also (home) offices. The suite now supports webcams, headsets and docking stations. This gives IT administrators better control over the status of hardware and allows controlled deployment of software updates.
