Following Apple’s long-awaited rollout of its new major software update, there appeared to be problems with the iPadOS 18 update. Users with an iPad Pro M4 experienced problems updating to iPadOS-18, which caused their device to crash. Apple consequently paused the update. Meanwhile, Apple is rolling out a new iPadOS 18 that should fix the alleged problem with the Apple iPad Pro M4.

Apple users were unable to install the iPadOS 18 update two weeks ago for the M4 iPad Pro. Apple temporarily stopped the rollout after a lot of complaints poured in from devices crashing during the update.

Yet there are also users who did not seem to be experiencing any problems. Several stories poured in on Reddit of both successful and unsuccessful attempts to install the update. A consistent factor among those devices where they did succeed was that they skipped the iPadOS 17.7 update and immediately downloaded iPadOS18.
New rollout
Meanwhile, Apple announced that it has found a solution, and is rolling out a new iPadOS 18.0.1. This includes bug fixes and M4 iPad Pro support. Users can now download the iPadOS 18.0.1 through the app Settings on your iPad, and then via General to Software Update go to. Both users who already installed iPadOS 18.0 or are still with iPadOS 17 can perform the update.
