More Durable Design and Larger Screens
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is built with aluminum and equipped with a new hinge. According to Google, this hinge is twice as durable as the previous generation’s. That means it can fold 200,000 times. Google finds it remarkable that the device has received an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. This is a first for foldable smartphones. Given the price of such a device (2,029 euros for the base model), this rating is a long-awaited and welcome addition.
Google is providing the device with seven years of OS updates, Pixel Drops, and security updates. This brings the phone in line with European regulations, which is surprising since foldable phones typically enjoy an exception to these rules.
The device features two upgraded displays. Inside is a spacious 8-inch screen, which according to Google is the largest inner screen on a foldable smartphone. On the outside is a 6.4-inch screen. Both screens achieve a brightness of 3,000 nits, ensuring the device remains readable even in bright sunlight. The screens are reinforced with thin glass and multiple protective layers to minimize damage from drops. According to Google, the folding mechanism should last more than ten years.

AI and Camera Functions Take Center Stage
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold runs on the new Tensor G5 chip, which Google also uses in other Pixel 10 devices. This chip provides better performance than its predecessor, accelerates AI functions, and adds extra functionality to the camera. Users get access to AI tools such as Gemini Live, Magic Cue, and Daily Hub, as well as photo features like Add Me, Best Take, and Camera Coach.
The camera system itself consists of three camera “s with different lenses. The main camera has a 48-megapixel sensor. Features such as Macro Focus, Super Res Zoom up to 20x, and Rear Camera Selfie should deliver better photo” s. New is Instant View: a feature that allows you to immediately evaluate a photo when the phone is unfolded and retake it if necessary.
Additionally, the device supports multitasking via a split screen, allowing you to adjust the size of apps yourself. Files and media can be easily dragged between apps. Google is working with app developers to optimize the experience on foldable screens.
