The new UX10 and UX10-IP tablets from Getac will be available from October and are equipped with the latest generation Intel chip.
Getac launches the next generation of its UX10 and UX10-IP tablets. Both models meet Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC specifications. They are equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 200V processor. This is exceptional: sturdy and rugged devices like these tablets typically receive slightly older chips that have already proven themselves.
AI and other Improvements
Getac now opts for Core Ultra 200V processors and can therefore join in spreading Intel’s AI gospel. The chips are equipped with an NPU with up to 48 TOPS, designed to accelerate AI-related tasks.
In theory, they support applications such as real-time data analysis, transcription, and image processing on the device itself. In practice, 48 TOPS is insufficient to match cloud-based AI, and the number of applications that currently derive significant value from an NPU is rather limited. However, organizations wanting to deploy software supported by the NPU now have the option.
Fortunately, the new models also have other upgrades on board. Getac claims they are more energy-efficient, come with WiFi 7 connectivity, and feature two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports. Optionally, a thinner and lighter bridge battery is available in the name of portability. Users can choose configurations with up to 32 GB LPDDR5X memory and a maximum of 2 TB SSD storage.
Drop-resistant in Freezing Cold
The UX10 is aimed at professionals in defense, utilities, and transportation, among others. The device weighs 1.15 kg and meets MIL-STD-810H and IP66 standards. The 10.1-inch screen with 1,000 nits brightness remains readable in sunlight and can be operated with gloves or in wet conditions. The rugged build makes the tablet resistant to drops of up to 1.8 meters and temperatures between -29°C and 63°C.
The UX10-IP is built with emergency care in mind. This model includes additional features to make the device easy and safe to clean. Think of sealed buttons and optional accessories such as a washable hand strap. This makes the tablet suitable for work environments where infection prevention is important.
The UX10 and UX10-IP tablets will be available for purchase from October.
