VMware makes Tanzu Application Platform as a Kubernetes software container orchestrator publicly available as of now.
VMware’s orchestration platform for Kuberents has been available as a beta test since last September. After several iterations and gathering feedback, the public version is officially available. VMware is launching Tanzu Application Platform as a rich set of developer tools with a simple production process. It allows users to quickly and securely build and deploy software on any public cloud or on-premises Kubernetes cluster.
Organizations today are increasingly looking to Kubernetes to bring legacy apps to the public cloud. This allows you to orchestrate large clusters of containers that host components of modern applications on their own. This way of working promotes speed and offers more flexibility because it can run on any compute architecture. Not coincidentally, this is why Kubernetes is one of the fastest-growing open source projects of the moment.
With VMware Tanzu Application Platform, you can manage, maintain and consistently run a rapidly growing ecosystem of convenient apps across teams. The platform allows you to easily build new apps and modernize existing ones.
Tanzu Application Platform makes pre-configured templates available for cloud-native platforms under the heading “App Accelerators. Finally, it will have a consistent user interface where developers can find services and application programming interfaces in one portal.
