Microsoft fixes a bug where a PC doesn’t actually shut down after installing updates.
Windows 11 users who click ‘Update and shut down’ soon will finally be able to trust that their computer will actually be shut down. This has been a long-standing issue within the operating system. All too often, Windows 11 ignores users’ wishes and restarts the OS to the lock screen anyway.
This is all the more frustrating because the ‘Update and restart’ option also exists. In practice, it often does the same thing. With the latest preview of Windows 11, Microsoft now announces that the bug will be addressed after being present for two years.

Other Features
Microsoft is simultaneously addressing several other bugs. For instance, the battery icon can sometimes incorrectly indicate that a laptop is still plugged in when that’s no longer the case. This will be fixed. Furthermore, Microsoft will integrate a speed test for your network into Windows 11. You’ll be able to activate this from your taskbar.
