Teams Won’t Connect? Microsoft Shares Workaround

Teams has been suffering from connection problems lately. Microsoft’s fault, which is now releasing a temporary solution.

“Sorry, we couldn’t connect you”. Everyone sees this message from time to time when opening Microsoft Teams. Lately, you might be seeing it more often than usual. If that’s the case, you’re not alone. Microsoft is sharing a temporary solution and promises to fully restore Teams soon.

The software giant takes responsibility for the connectivity issues. Microsoft has recently been tinkering with the left taskbar of Teams, among other things to give Copilot a more prominent place in the application. In the process, “non-optimized” code was activated that can make starting Teams difficult.

25 Percent

Microsoft acknowledges fault but also offers a solution. IT administrators can find instructions for a workaround through the Microsoft 365 admin center. These are not being shared more widely by Microsoft. This temporary solution has already helped “25 percent” of affected Teams users.

The remaining 75 percent will have to wait for a permanent fix. Microsoft promises this by the end of the week. Organizations that rely on Microsoft Teams to support hybrid work are hoping for a quick solution.

More Security

Microsoft is also increasing security against phishing and social engineering attacks via Teams. Messages with suspicious links or domains can be automatically blocked. Teams now also ensures that you can no longer accidentally share sensitive screen content during meetings. Earlier, the ability to take screenshots of shared screen content was removed.
