After twenty years, Nvidia is discontinuing the classic Control Panel for Studio Drivers. All functionality is moving to the new Nvidia app, which is designed to be faster and more efficient.
The Nvidia Control Panel was the standard for years for users who wanted to adjust their graphics settings. Now, that task is being taken over by the modern Nvidia app, which contains all supported features for GeForce users. For professional users of Nvidia RTX Pro, it will remain available until all professional features have been migrated to the new app.
What is changing?
The Nvidia app offers all the functionality of the Control Panel, but with a modern look. For example, the Graphics > Program Settings section replaces the old 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings. All other settings, such as display options, can be found under the System tab. Additionally, the app adds new features for gamers.
Availability and installation
The Nvidia app is available when installing the latest driver, or it can be downloaded separately from the Nvidia website. Users who still need the old app can download it via the Microsoft Store, but no new features or updates will be released.
