Users are getting an error message when opening the Outlook desktop app for Windows 11 and Windows 10. Microsoft is aware of the problem.
A bug has surfaced in the Outlook desktop app for Windows 11 and Windows 10, noted Windows Latest. This error 0x80049dd3 prevents users from logging in through the app. Microsoft announced that it is aware of the problem. The error message would not be linked to recent Windows updates.
Access Denied
Several users are said to have already noticed the error message. Windows Latest conducted its own test and noted that when opened, the Outlook app displays a message saying “Access Denied” in the inbox. This also prevents access to the drafts, send, and spam folders, among others. Afterwards, you are forced to log in again, after which a pop-up appears with “Something went wrong.” Then the error code 0x80049dd3 appears.

Finally, Windows Latest shares a possible way around the problem, by simply closing the prompt. Except that the problem will occur again when you try to open Outlook again in Windows 11 and Windows 10.
The error message would not be linked to recent Windows updates, so there is no point in uninstalling recent updates. Microsoft let Windows Latest know that it is aware of the problem.
