Microsoft working on new Outlook calendar for Teams

Microsoft confirms that it is working on the new Outlook Calendar for Teams, which will soon appear as an opt-in feature.

Microsoft confirms that it is bringing the calendar from the new Outlook for Windows to Teams. The new calendar in Teams combines several productivity features, including the latest Microsoft Copilot, which helps users summarize meetings or select optimal workdays for collaboration. With this calendar, the company aims to bring the new Outlook for Windows, Outlook on the Web, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Places closer together. Currently, Microsoft is fleshing out this feature, but soon users will be able to try it out as an opt-in feature.

The new calendar in Teams comes with several productivity features. Among these is the latest innovation such as Microsoft Copilot, which can help users manage schedules and prepare or summarize meetings. Moreover, you can even let Microsoft Copilot determine the optimal days for office collaboration.

Just as users in the new Outlook version can choose whether to work in the ‘old’ or new Outlook via a switch, this will be done in a similar way with the new calendar in Teams. With the new update, users will see the ‘New Calendar’ switch appear at the top right of the calendar app in Teams. This is disabled by default, users need to activate it to try out the feature.
