Microsoft has now set up the forced installation of the new Outlook app in Windows 10. The bad news? You can’t avoid it, unfortunately. This forced installation belongs that the new Windows 10 KB5051974 update, which include the January 2025 Patch Tuesday security updates. Thus, it is recommended to run this update.
Outlook app in Windows 10
The new Windows 10 update (KB5051974) is mandatory because of the Patch Tuesday security updates. When you go to Settings Go to Settings, click on Windows Update and then click on ‘Check for updates’, this new update will be installed automatically. Once this update is installed, it also means that the new Outlook app replaces the old Mail and Calendar app on Windows 10 version 21H2 and 22H2.

The only way to get around the forced installation is to not install the update. Since it contains important security updates, this is not recommended.
