Will Copilot soon be even more prominent in Microsoft Edge? Microsoft is testing out some new features in the Canary version, including a Copilot button in “settings.

Microsoft Edge is reportedly currently working on far-reaching integration of Copilot into the Edge browser, Windows Latest reports. Currently, Copilot already appears in Microsoft Edge’s sidebar, but this would become more prominent in the future. In addition, the Settings app will get a “Ask Copilot” button to help you search for settings. The discoveries were noticed in the Canary version of Edge. So it is not yet certain if they will be effectively rolled out.

Copilot Edge

Microsoft Edge already has Copilot in the sidebar, but that is clearly not enough. According to experimental features, Copilot would open automatically when starting Edge, or when opening a new tab. This will make the AI assistant much more prominent.

According to some references from Windows Latest, Edge would also get a new button in the Settings app: “Ask Copilot.” Possibly this button could help users find settings or troubleshoot problems.

Edge Companion

Furthermore, a reference to a new feature called Edge Companion was discovered. This would possibly be related to Copilot Vision in Microsoft Edge, which allows users to interact with Web content by voice.

Microsoft has run experiments of new features before, which ultimately never saw the light of day. So it remains to be seen whether these Copilot integrations will come to Edge.
