Microsoft Edge is currently experimenting with a new user interface that looks very similar to the Copilot design.

Microsoft Edge is reportedly working on a major UI improvement, as noted by Windows Central. The latest versions of Edge Canary and DevChannel are said to show an updated interface that strongly resembles the Microsoft Copilot app. The design is said to include new context menus and a tab page inspired by Copilot. Initial signs of a redesign of Microsoft Edge were already discovered last summer.

New design

In the new design, things like the context menus, tab page, and settings are said to be changed. The various elements have rounder corners and the same colors and fonts as in the Copilot app. According to Windows Central, the new layout appears regardless of whether you have Copilot Mode enabled.

The Copilot design was initially very different from the Windows 11 design language, which has Fluent Design as its basis. Now it seems that Microsoft is not using the Copilot design exclusively for Copilot, but also letting it reappear in other applications.

Currently, the renewed user interface in Edge is still being tested, and it will be a while before it appears for everyone in Edge.
