Without updating to the latest version of all apps under Intune Mobile Application Management, you will lose access.
Microsoft has activated new security requirements for Intune, which may prevent employees without recent app updates from accessing their business email and apps.
Stricter requirements for mobile work apps
Since January 19, Microsoft is implementing new security rules for Intune Mobile Application Management (MAM). Apps that do not run on the latest SDK, wrapper, or app versions are automatically blocked. This applies not only to corporate apps that are secured with Intune, but also to popular Microsoft tools such as Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive on Android and iOS.
On Android, it is important that the Company Portal app is updated to version 5.0.6726.0 or higher. If this does not happen, all other managed work apps will no longer start.
Check
As an administrator, you can check which users are at risk via the Intune admin center on the Microsoft website. Go to Apps, Monitor, App protection status and see which users have which app version and SDK version installed. By proactively informing employees, they will not experience any problems with access rights.
