A bug in the license control mechanism is causing some users to have difficulty downloading Microsoft 365 desktop applications for quite some time.
Are you having trouble downloading Microsoft 365 applications for your PC from the Microsoft 365 homepage? You’re not alone. Since last month, Microsoft has been facing an issue with this, although it’s unclear how widespread the problem is. A solution is on the way.
The bug in question is related to the user’s license verification. After an update, this control mechanism may prevent a user from downloading the correct applications. Since the problem has existed since November 2 but Microsoft has only now identified it, the impact is likely not significant. Nonetheless, Redmond has developed a solution, which will be implemented throughout the day.

Microsoft is also addressing another minor issue where users are unable to open Excel attachments in their email.
