Two Logitech applications, Options+ and G Hub, no longer work on MacOS. Logitech has since shared a solution.
Several Mac OS users are reporting that Options+ and G Hub no longer work due to an expired certificate. Options+ allows you to manage Logitech devices, and G Hub allows you to configure gaming peripherals.
Productivity suddenly disrupted
Both Logitech Options+ and Logitech G Hub refused to start on macOS. As a result, users suddenly lost access to essential settings such as button assignments, custom scroll functions, mouse sensitivity, and application profiles. This has an impact on employees’ daily workflow, writes Bleeping Computer.
There are many complaints on Reddit from users who wasted time reinstalling, deleting configuration files, or starting in safe mode, without any results.
Expired code certificate
Logitech confirms via its support portal that the issue was caused by an expired certificate required to run the apps on macOS. Because that certificate also affected the built-in update function, the applications could not automatically repair themselves.
Solution shared
Logitech has released two patch installers to fix the issue. “You need these installers to install the updated version of the app,” Logitech writes on a support page. The company also shares the steps to get the applications working again:
Options+
Download the installer here. Double-click the file, then the application will close automatically and Options+ will start. All set devices, settings and adjustments should then be restored.
G Hub
Download the installer here and double-click the downloaded file. If you receive a message saying “software already exists”, close the installer again and everything will work as it should.
