Google is managing to get more and more companies excited about Gemini. Salesforce is welcoming Gemini into Agentforce and Apple is looking to expand its Intelligence suite with Google’s AI model.

Salesforce is expanding its partnership with Google and integrating its Gemini models into Agentforce, the company announced in a blog. As a result, Agentforce can now handle images, audio and video. The AI will have access to a context window of two million tokens and perform searches with the Google search engine to provide real-time information.

Integration between Salesforce Service Cloud and the Google Customer Engagement Suite is being expanded. The AI can analyze conversations across multiple channels and provide relevant insights for fellow employees. Finally, Salesforce is moving all of its Agentforce, Data Cloud and Customer 360 applications to Google Cloud’s cloud infrastructure.

Gemini Intelligence

According to Salesforce, this partnership gives companies more freedom of choice in AI models and infrastructure. This helps companies develop and use AI solutions without being tied to one specific provider. We hear a similar story from Apple, which, according to 9to5Mac, will offer Gemini through its Intelligence suite starting with iOS 18.4.

Apple is already working with OpenAI, but has always kept the door open to Google. Gemini will sit alongside OpenAI in Apple Intelligence’s catalog of models. The update is still in beta, and it has been common for Apple Intelligence features to be pushed to later versions. In April, Apple Intelligence will finally launch in Europe as well, after Apple initially refused to roll out its AI suite to us in protest of the AI Act. Whether that will be with or without Gemini remains to be seen.

Gemini for all

After a missed start – who remembers Bard? – Google has been playing catch-up with Gemini. Now it’s a matter of getting as many people as possible to use the AI tools. For that, support from outside parties helps, but Google also has plenty of its own channels. Gemini is now the regular AI assistant on every new Android smartphone and is included in Workspace subscriptions, at a small price hike admittedly.
