Google Labs is opening a waiting list for Disco, an experimental platform featuring GenTabs. This feature is designed to help users manage complex web tasks by automatically generating interactive web apps based on open tabs and context.
Google is proposing a new experimental platform called Disco. Within that platform, the company is testing GenTabs, a feature designed to simplify browsing when users work with multiple tasks and tabs simultaneously. The test phase starts with a limited group of users on macOS, who can sign up via a waiting list.
Gemini 3
GenTabs is built with Gemini 3, Google’s latest AI model. The feature analyzes open tabs and recent interactions to understand what a user is doing. Based on this, GenTabs generates small, interactive web applications that support a task. Users do not need to write code for this and can customize the application via ordinary text input.

From tabs to task-oriented apps
GenTabs are suitable for users who want to consult a lot of information at the same time. When planning a trip or collecting learning materials, a whole series of tabs can quickly open. Google wants to bring structure to this with GenTabs. Instead of keeping dozens of tabs open, GenTabs can bring the relevant information together in one clear application. The generated applications remain linked to the open web. Each output refers to the original sources from which the information comes.
In addition to responding to explicit commands, GenTabs can also make suggestions for additional tools. These suggestions are based on the user’s current context and should help to complete tasks more efficiently.
Experimental
Disco is set up as a test environment within Google Labs. The company emphasizes that the functionality is still incomplete and that errors are possible. Feedback from testers will determine which parts will be further developed. The waiting list for Disco and GenTabs is now open. The first tests focus exclusively on macOS, with a limited influx of users.
