Microsoft is experiencing an outage. Currently, Microsoft 365 web applications are offline.
Microsoft announced in an X-thread that it is dealing with an outage. Web applications including Outlook and Teams have been affected and are currently offline. The company advises users to use the desktop applications for now until a fix is found. The company is still searching for the root cause.
Second outage in two weeks
This is already the second Microsoft 365 outage in two weeks. On Nov. 25, Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams were down. Microsoft communicated in the X-thread that it has identified a problem with token generation. This is not the main problem, but it may be contributing to the impact. Microsoft believes it will be fixed by disabling proactive caching.
Microsoft is directing users to the admin center for more info, but according to a reply to the X-thread, that service is also offline. This article will be further updated as more communication follows.
Update 10/12/2024 5 p.m.: The problem has been fixed according to Microsoft. All web apps are operational again.
