DuckDuckGo adds OpenAI’s GPT-5 to its AI chat service Duck.ai. The other language models are still available.

“OpenAI’s GPT-5 mini has replaced o4-mini in our Duck.ai lineup,” according to a DuckDuckGo representative speaking to Thurrott. This means GPT-5 joins the roster alongside GPT-4o, Llama 4 Scout, Claude Haiku 3.5, and Mistral Small 3. Duck.ai is freely accessible to everyone via the web and promises anonymous access to a range of AI chatbots.

Duck.ai now also offers OpenAI’s latest language model, GPT-5, in its chat service. Microsoft has already integrated GPT-5 into its Copilot. GPT-5 was launched just a few weeks ago and promises to deliver “state-of-the-art” performance. Initially, OpenAI’s new language model wasn’t well-received by users. The model was reportedly more distant and more limited compared to its predecessors.

Our editorial team put it to the test and compared the performance of GPT-5 with that of its predecessor GPT-4o. OpenAI quickly responded to user criticism and made GPT-5’s personality much more pleasant.

GPT-5 now joins the lineup of language models in Duck.ai, DuckDuckGo’s free AI service. GPT-4o mini is still available on Duck.ai, along with Llama 4 Scout, Claude Haiku 3.5, and Mistral Small 3.
