D-Wave aims to simplify the integration of quantum computing with open-source tools.
D-Wave has launched an open-source toolkit that allows developers to integrate quantum computers into AI and machine learning models.
Integration with PyTorch and Demo Available
The toolkit works with PyTorch, a widely used software package for building AI models. Developers can experiment with how quantum computers can be used in training AI models, such as ‘Restricted Boltzmann Machines’ (RBMs). These models are used for applications like image recognition and drug discovery.
D-Wave also offers a demo showing how a quantum processor can generate simple images via AI. The company aims to illustrate how quantum technology can support the development of generative AI.
Easy Integration
RBMs are complex to train with classical computers, especially with large datasets. D-Wave aims for the integration with quantum processors to make this process more efficient. Through the toolkit, developers can explore how annealing quantum computing can enhance the performance of existing machine learning algorithms.
The new toolkit is part of D-Wave’s open-source Ocean suite and is available from today. This suite includes tools for developing software with Python.
