ChatGPT users can now set reminders and schedule future actions.
OpenAI is launching a new beta feature in ChatGPT called Tasks. It allows users to set recurring actions and reminders.
Scheduled tasks
The Verge writes that OpenAI wants ChatGPT to be more like a traditional digital assistant, like Google Assistant or Siri, for example. For example, ChatGPT has recently been able to speak and analyze video. The big difference is that ChatGPT has more advanced language. The Tasks feature allows you to set up to ten recurring actions at certain times. Think of a weather report at eight in the morning or a reminder to take out the garbage bags on the right day.
To use the feature, subscribers must select the “4o with scheduled tasks” model. That model also works simply via text prompts. Tasks are managed in the chat conversation or in the new “Tasks” section. There the tasks can easily be changed or canceled.
OpenAI has not yet communicated whether Tasks will be made available to non-subscribers in the future. The feature is currently available to Plus, Team and Pro subscribers.
