Microsoft Bing Video Creator generates short videos based on text prompts and is available from today in the mobile Bing app.
Microsoft introduces Bing Video Creator, a new AI tool that generates short videos based on text prompts. The model is based on OpenAI’s video model Sora and can generate five-second videos based on text. The application is being rolled out from today via the mobile Bing app and will soon also come to desktop and Copilot Search.
Short videos
Bing Video Creator is based on Sora, OpenAI’s video model, and allows for creating short five-second videos using simple descriptions. Users can type out their ideas and receive a visual result within minutes. The tool is available for free and offers a choice between fast or standard generation speed.

The generated videos are available in 9:16 format, with an expansion to 16:9 in the near future. Up to three video prompts can be queued simultaneously per user. Upon completion, the user receives a notification and can share, download, or save the video. The generated content remains available for up to 90 days.
To create a video, users open the menu in the mobile Bing app, choose “Video Creator” and type a description. An alternative method is typing “Create a video of…” in the Bing Mobile search bar. Desktop users will soon be able to access it at bing.com/create.
Detailed prompts
The tool focuses on various applications, from illustrating stories to visualizing brainstorm ideas or creating content for social media. Microsoft emphasizes the importance of detailed prompts for better results, such as including camera angles or atmosphere descriptions.
Security measures
Microsoft applies security measures to prevent misuse. Prompts that may generate harmful content are blocked. Each video also includes provenance information based on the C2PA standard, making it clear that the video was generated by AI.
Bing Video Creator is available worldwide, except for China and Russia. Microsoft aims to further improve the service based on user experiences.
