Anthropic’s Claude Code gets a renewed interface and GitHub integration
Anthropic gives Claude Code a renewed interface that should provide a better overview. The prompt composer and sessions now appear in the sidebar. Additionally, you can start the GitHub integration in two steps. The coding assistant can already be used in VS Code or Cursor, but not yet in the browser. A few days ago, OpenAI made its coding assistant Codex available in the IDE and on GitHub.
New Interface
Anthropic’s coding assistant Claude Code gets a new interface. One of the changes is the renewed sidebar where the prompt composer and sessions will appear. This gives the developer more space in the main workspace where the code is edited, while maintaining an overview.
Furthermore, two new steps are required for collaboration with GitHub repositories. First, users need to download a specific GitHub Claude app to their repository and add the “Claude Dispatch” file to the project. Only then will the integration between Claude Code and GitHub work.
Finally, it will be possible to enable email and web notifications for Claude Code updates. This way, users can stay informed about the latest updates and changes to the tool, improving communication between Anthropic and developers.
