In Belgium, some 50 Zimbra servers are believed to be vulnerable to a serious security vulnerability, according to research by The Shadowserver. Germany and the U.S. stand out with about 1,600 vulnerable servers. Earlier this month, a warning was already sent out for this vulnerability. The security flaw is exploited by simply sending an e-mail with malicious code in the CC field. Zimbra released patches last month. Organizations are advised to apply the security updates.

Zimbra and the Digital Trust Center already warned about this vulnerability early this month. Indeed, the leak has been given a maximum severity score of 10.0, and is identified by the code CVE-2024-45519.

Zimbra already released patches last month, versions 9.0.0 Patch 41, 10.0.9, 10.1.1 and Zimbra 8.8.15 Patch 46. Companies are now urged to make the necessary security updates.
