McAfee is launching an AI-powered Scam Detector at CES that should detect scam even before it reaches you.
Mcafee is introducing its own Scam Detector during CES in Las Vegas. This AI-powered tool should protect against text, e-mail and video scams, alerting users even before any damage can be done. McAfee customers will have access to the scam detector starting this spring at no additional cost.

“Scammers are getting smarter every day and using technology such as artificial intelligence to make their tricks more convincing and harder to spot,” said Steve Grobman, Chief Technology Officer at McAfee in a press release. “They play on people’s emotions – such as fear, urgency or trust – to get what they want.”
The scam detector, powered by McAfee’s Smart AI, can proactively analyze and flag risky messages. The detector checks your inbox for suspicious emails, flags them and then provides tips on how to recognize a dangerous message. Furthermore, the detector can also analyze text, when scammers ask you to give money or click on a link, for example.
Finally, AI-created videos are also popular among scammers. The Scam Detector will indicate when you are watching a deepfake video. This deepfake detection will be available in multiple languages (French, German and Japanese), and works seamlessly with all your devices, wherever you are.
The McAfee Scam Detector will be included at no additional cost for McAfee customers starting this spring.
