The NIS2 law is alive and well among IT professionals, according to an ITdaily poll among its readers. Nearly half feel the impact, but not everyone knows what is expected.
NIS2 officially went into effect on Oct. 18. The NIS2 regulations were created to increase the cyber resilience of companies in key industries. Although the letter of the law applies to large organizations, SMEs in the supply chain may also be inundated with questions about NIS2. ITdaily organized an online poll of IT professionals on whether they are feeling the impact of NIS2.

The survey, which was completed by about 70 participants, shows that NIS2 is on the radar of IT professionals, but not everyone is yet as familiar with exactly what the law means for the organization. One in three IT professionals say they are actively engaged with NIS2. 14 percent are aware that NIS2 applies, but find the expectations unclear.
Sixteen percent are closely following NIS2 even though the law has no immediate impact at this time. Only 11 percent are sure the law does not apply to their organization. Finally, one in four have never heard of NIS2. If you fall under the latter group, please refer to our topic page on NIS2.
