ISACA reaffirms its commitment to the European Commission’s Cybersecurity Skills Academy. The organization focuses on collaborations with academic institutions, scholarships for students and greater gender equality within the cybersecurity sector.
The EU Cybersecurity Skills Academy can count on renewed commitment from ISACA, which specializes in security, privacy and compliance training. The globally active NPO joined the Cybersecurity Skills Academy in 2023 to address the cybersecurity skills shortage in Europe. Over the past year, the organization partnered with 60 training institutions and 30 European universities.
More than 1,200 students received free ISACA membership, which gave them access to training, certifications and mentoring. In addition, ISACA hosted more than 1,170 events, including 440 certification trainings.
Integration with universities
Through increased collaborations with universities, ISACA aims to structurally integrate cybersecurity skills into various curricula. In addition, new scholarship programs are being established to attract and support more students. Finally, the organization wants to increase the number of women in cybersecurity through targeted diversity initiatives. The latter goal has been a focus for some time.
The commitment should contribute to a more diverse and better educated cybersecurity community in Europe. Furthermore, of course, ISACA can use the commitment handily to put itself in the spotlight.
