Google tests verification feature with ‘blue checkmark’ in search results

Some users will see a blue checkmark in their search results in Google search. With this, Google wants to stop fraudulent websites from having a chance.

Google is reportedly experimenting with a “blue checkmark” in its search results, indicating whether a Web site has been verified. An employee at The Verge noted that. As soon as he logged into another Google account, the verification symbol disappeared. This indicates that Google is still in the testing phase, and this feature is currently only visible to a few users.

Verification function

Google is currently testing out the “blue checkmark” on some users. This is a new verification feature in Google search that indicates whether a Web site is trustworthy or not. This would help users detect fraudulent Web sites more quickly. We ourselves have yet to see the blue checkmark, but Google informs us that it is currently in the experimental phase.

“We regularly experiment with features that help shoppers identify trusted businesses online, and we are currently conducting a small experiment with checkmarks next to certain businesses on Google,” Molly Shaheen, Google Public Affairs spokesperson, told The Verge.

Indeed, Jay Peters of The Verge saw the blue checkmark appear next to official sitelinks for Microsoft, Meta, Epic Games, Apple, Amazon and HP. When you hover over the checkmark, the following message appears, “Google’s signals suggest this company is the company it says it is. “This is determined by things like website verification, Merchant Center data and manual reviews, Shaheen said. When this feature will be rolled out widely is not yet clear.
