Thousands of Telenet users are without mobile internet, and calling is not possible either. Telenet is working on a solution. The network is currently in recovery mode.

This morning thousands of Telenet users woke up without mobile internet or the ability to make calls. This night maintenance work took place on Telenet’s mobile network, where something went wrong at the end. Telenet is currently working on a solution, but it may take some time before this is fully correct. No problems have been reported with television services or wifi.

National disruption

Since this morning, problems have surfaced at Telenet. Thousands of users can no longer make calls, or use mobile internet. The Allestoringen website has seen a marked increase in the number of reports since this morning.

“Last night there were maintenance works on our mobile network,” spokesman Bart Boone told VRT NWS. “Those works were planned, but at the end something went wrong, causing several customers to have difficulties in accessing the mobile network.”

The network has reportedly been in recovery mode since 7 a.m. this morning, according to Boone. “That means everything is being rebooted. We see that several customers are accessing the mobile network again, but the restart is a gradual process. It is difficult to pin a time on it, but we are doing everything we can to get it right for everyone as soon as possible,” Boone told VRT NWS.
