Meta introduces the Ray-Ban Display, smart glasses with a built-in color display, combined with an EMG wristband that converts muscle signals into digital commands.
During the Meta Connect 2025 event, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announces the new Ray-Ban Display, smart glasses that bring your smartphone experience through the lenses of the Ray-Ban glasses. The included EMG wristband registers your hand gestures so you can control the smart glasses with your hands.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display will be available from September 30 (first in the US) for a starting price of $799, including the wristband. The international rollout is planned for 2026.
Smart Ray-Ban Glasses
With these smart glasses, Meta is targeting consumers. Users can now perform traditional tasks, which they typically do on their smartphone, via these smart glasses.
These glasses contain a 600x600p high-resolution color display that is only visible when needed (through the right lens). The screen shows notifications, messages, translations, navigation information, and visual support from Meta AI. This allows users to access information without picking up their smartphone.

The glasses support hands-free communication via services such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. Live video calls are also possible. Additionally, users can take photos and select media via the display. Furthermore, the glasses are equipped with a 12 MP camera with 3x zoom and a viewfinder on the display in your lens. The glasses also show subtitles and real-time translations during conversations.
With Wristband
Each pair of glasses comes with a Meta Neural Band, a wristband that uses electromyography to detect muscle signals in the wrist. These signals are converted into commands, such as swiping, clicking, or scrolling. Meta developed the band based on research with nearly 200,000 participants.
According to Meta, even small, invisible finger movements can be detected. The technology can also improve accessibility for people with limited mobility. The battery lasts up to eighteen hours.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display and Neural Band will be available for purchase from September 30 in a limited number of stores in the US, with international rollout planned for 2026. The combination costs $799 including tax. The glasses come in two colors, with day and night lenses, and a battery life of up to six hours (expandable to 30 hours via a portable charging case). The wristband comes in three sizes.
