Zoom supports Google Cloud’s A2a protocol for collaboration between AI Agents

As demonstrated at Google I/O, Zoom integrates with Google Cloud Agentspace to enable seamless meeting scheduling via AI agents.

Zoom is integrating Google Cloud’s Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol into its platform. With this, the company aims to improve collaboration between AI agents within business workflows. Simultaneously, Zoom is also enabling integration with Google Cloud Agentspace.

AI agents schedule meetings

The first application of the collaboration is expected this summer. Zoom will demonstrate how AI agents use information from Gmail via the A2A protocol to automatically schedule Zoom meetings. The integration ensures that Google Calendar is updated, participants are informed, and meetings start at the right time.

By supporting the A2A protocol, AI agents from different vendors can collaborate with each other. An example of this is the collaboration between Zoom AI Companion and external agents such as ServiceNow’s NowAssist. In the future, Zoom AI Companion should also be usable on other platforms that support A2A, such as ServiceNow AgentFabric and Google Agentspace.

Google Cloud’s A2A protocol was previously announced as an open standard for communication between AI agents. The protocol aims to remove technical barriers and ensures interoperability between different systems.
