ThoughtSpot integrates reasoning capabilities into its conversational AI assistant Spotter. It will be able to answer ‘why’ questions.
ThoughtSpot expands the capabilities of Spotter. Spotter 3.0 is the latest iteration of what once started as a query assistant. Version three has been available since November last year but is now receiving an update. ThoughtSpot integrates logical reasoning capabilities into the assistant. SiliconAngle reports.
Context
Customers who want to gain insights into their data can now ask Spotter questions in natural language. These can now be general questions such as ‘Tell me more about this dataset?’ or ‘Why have our sales figures declined in the past quarter compared to last year?’
To answer such questions, Spotter understands the context and can discover changes as well as the possible mechanisms behind them. The aim is for users to be able to brainstorm with Spotter about their data, leading to relevant conclusions.
ThoughtSpot expects this approach to be more relevant than traditional dashboards. These show information but do not provide hints about the meaning of the graphs. The assistant allows users to ask concrete questions about data, immediately get the right figures, supplemented with contextual information about why the figures look the way they do.
