Microsoft gives Cloud PC service Windows 365 long-awaited Azure AD Join functionality

Microsoft is making it easier for administrators to add Windows 365 Cloud PCs to their network thanks to the rollout of Join.

Microsoft brings Azure Active Directory Join to Windows 365 Enterprise. From now on, you no longer need an Azure subscription to provision Cloud PCs for users. You can simply deploy the managed virtualized Windows computers into the Microsoft Hosted Network with the Azure AD Join feature. This is by far the most requested functionality by Windows 365 customers, according to Microsoft. The functionality is available in preview effective immediately.

You can also use your own Azure virtual network. In that case, you must first establish an Azure Join network connection. Once that is successful, you can choose your own network in the provisioning wizard under Network, again with Azure AD Join.

Localization

Furthermore, Microsoft makes it possible to locate default settings for the Cloud PCs. During provisioning, you can already choose from 38 language and region packages, so that the systems immediately speak the right language. Adjusting the language settings of already provisioned PCs also becomes easier.

Finally, Microsoft announced two new regions for Windows 365. In the US it is US Central, closer to home Germany West Central will support the VDI service.

Microsoft launched Windows 365 last year as its own VDI cloud service. Through managed Windows PCs, the software giant expects to offer an important new way to use the OS. VDI solutions are nothing new, but Microsoft, as a Windows builder and cloud specialist, is uniquely positioned to market a comprehensive offering.
