Microsoft announces its plans to bring the cloud to Luxembourg in partnership with Deep By Post.
Microsoft plans to launch a local cloud offering in Luxembourg. The goal is to focus more on data sovereignty and low latency for the local market. Microsoft aims to have this ready by January 2026.
Microsoft will partner with Deep, a subsidiary of Post Luxembourg, for this purpose. “We have more than a hundred active partners in Luxembourg. This ecosystem of partners, developed over the 20 years of our presence, is one of our strengths,” said Sébastien Respaut, Microsoft’s Country Manager in Luxembourg, in an interview with Delano.
Cloud to Luxembourg
Microsoft’s project, to bring the cloud to Luxembourg as well, will be launched in the next 12 months. Today, private and public sector customers are required to connect via Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris and soon Brussels. With a new access point in Luxembourg to the Microsoft network, companies will be able to connect directly within the country’s borders.

In addition, an infrastructure will be built in Luxembourg that Microsoft will fully manage. “This is primarily to support usage scenarios that require data localization in the country or low latency for improved performance,” Respaut said.
Collaboration Deep
To realize this Luxembourg cloud region, Microsoft is partnering with Deep, a subsidiary of Post Luxembourg. Deep will be Microsoft’s commercial partner in this effort. “As part of this project, Deep provided us with great support from the beginning in gathering the needs of our Luxembourg customers. They participated in the co-construction of specific architectures for the identified use cases,” said Respaut.
