In the new update of Google Docs, Google adds multiple programming languages to its code block feature including HTML, CSS, and C#.
The code block feature in Google Documents has existed since 2022. It allows developers to easily add code to documents. Initially, this was only possible in the languages C, C++, Java, JavaScript, and Python. Now Google is adding a whole list of extra coding languages to the code block feature, including the well-known HTML, CSS, and C#, as announced in a blog post.
Code blocks Google Docs
From now on, users can add code blocks to Google Documents in multiple programming languages: C#, Go, Kotlin, PHP, Rust, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, Protobuf, Textproto, SQL, and Bash/Shell. This is a handy new update for developers who regularly work in Google Documents and want to correctly format code snippets.

Administrators do not need to take any action to make these programming languages available in Google Documents. To add a code block, navigate in your document to Insert Building Blocks > Code Blocks and then choose the programming language you need.
