DXC Technology is bringing Private Cloud+ to the market, a hybrid private cloud solution that runs on Dell infrastructure and is managed via the DXC Oasis orchestration platform.
With Private Cloud+, DXC aims to provide an answer to the growing demand for multicloud strategies. More and more organizations are no longer choosing a single public cloud environment, but are combining different platforms to meet stricter requirements regarding governance, cybersecurity, and data sovereignty. The solution is designed to combine the scale advantages of hyperscale cloud environments with the control offered by a private cloud.
The infrastructure runs on Dell servers, storage, and cyber-resilience solutions. Management is handled via DXC OASIS, allowing organizations to connect data centers, public cloud environments, and future AI applications within a single platform.
Support for traditional and AI workloads
Private Cloud+ is hosted in DXC’s data centers and combines automation with human expertise. The solution supports a range of business applications and workloads, including virtual machines, containers, data storage, backup and recovery facilities, and private AI environments.
According to Chris Drumgoole, President of Global Infrastructure Services at DXC, organizations in sectors such as manufacturing, transportation, and insurance want to benefit from the scale and AI capabilities of the cloud without losing control over their IT landscape. Until now, this often involved trade-offs, something Private Cloud+ is intended to change. Thanks to a consumption-based pricing model, IT investments also become more predictable, allowing organizations to reduce technical debt and strengthen security.
Three variants for diverse requirements
DXC is releasing Private Cloud+ in three variants. Core is a multi-tenant private cloud based on a consumption model, featuring all the solution’s functionalities. Dedicated offers a single-tenant environment for organizations requiring complete separation of compute, storage, and data.
Government is the most secure variant, featuring advanced security measures and management by screened local personnel. This version is specifically developed for government organizations and sectors with strict regulations. Benjamin Greene, Director of Global Infrastructure Services Private Cloud at DXC, states that organizations need infrastructure designed from the ground up for sensitive workloads, IT modernization, and AI implementation, without complex retrofitting. DXC Oasis is intended to take over operational management so that customers can focus on innovation.
Long-standing partnership with Dell Technologies
DXC and Dell have been working together for more than 25 years and, according to their own reports, support over 2,000 organizations worldwide. Private Cloud+ is part of the DXC Fast Track portfolio, in which the company brings together AI-driven solutions and automation to accelerate customers’ digital transformation.
With this launch, DXC is positioning itself emphatically in the market for hybrid cloud solutions, where the demand for data control and compliance continues to increase. Whether Private Cloud+ effectively offers the desired balance between flexibility and control will have to be seen from its adoption by organizations in regulated sectors.
