Salesforce and OpenAI are joining forces to integrate generative AI solutions into both companies’ platforms.
Salesforce announces the collaboration with OpenAI during its Dreamforce 2025 event. Within the partnership, Salesforce’s Agentforce 360 platform becomes accessible within ChatGPT. Users can directly retrieve sales data, analyze customer interactions, or create Tableau visualizations via simple natural language queries within ChatGPT. At the same time, companies can deploy OpenAI’s latest language models, such as GPT-5, in the Salesforce Platform to build their own AI agents and prompts.
Slack
OpenAI’s technology is also being integrated into Salesforce applications, including Agentforce Sales. This allows employees to work with their CRM data directly via natural language.

In Slack, ChatGPT will be available via an integrated app that supports tasks such as content creation, summaries, and searches within the workflow. Codex, the OpenAI tool for writing code, will also be integrated into Slack. Users can call on Codex in channels or discussions, after which the tool generates or edits code based on the context.
E-commerce in ChatGPT
In addition to the integration of productivity tools, Salesforce also introduces Agentforce Commerce in ChatGPT, in combination with the Agentic Commerce Protocol. This allows companies to offer their product catalog to millions of users within ChatGPT, including integrated handling via Instant Checkout.

This setup allows sellers to display products, process payments, and manage customer relationships within ChatGPT, without customers having to leave the platform. Underlying, Stripe ensures the handling of payments via secure and privacy-friendly transactions.
The first applications are already available. OpenAI’s models can be used in Agentforce starting today. The new Agentforce 360 apps and commerce functionalities will be rolled out later this year. ChatGPT and Codex are meanwhile already available in Slack.
With this collaboration, both companies want to offer AI services in the places where people already work, communicate, or shop.
