Ghent-based AI platform Ravical is raising 17 million dollars to help accountancy firms grow without hiring extra staff. The funding will support expansion into the United States and the rest of Europe.

Ravical, a platform used by more than 100 European firms, has closed a 17 million dollar funding round. The round was led by MMC Ventures, with participation from existing and new investors. The company wants to use the capital to strengthen its position in the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. It also plans a rollout across the rest of Europe and is taking the step into the United States.

A changing revenue model

The traditional way of working in accountancy is coming under pressure. Demand for advisory services is rising, but there are fewer graduates and experienced staff are hard to find. At the same time, AI can take over many tasks that previously required human intervention. Research by Ravical shows that 70 percent of British SMEs now follow advice from AI without consulting their accountant.

Joris Van Der Gucht, the CEO of Ravical, notes that firms therefore have to become more proactive. He says the real question is not whether people use AI, but who controls that technology within an organisation. Van Der Gucht founded the company only in 2025 with Ken Bastiaensen and Benjamin Vandermarliere. He previously co-founded the cloud platform Silverfin, which now falls under the Visma group. Ravical has offices in Ghent and London.

Expertise as a shared asset

The problem at many firms is that specialist knowledge often sits with individual employees. That knowledge then only reaches the clients of that specific person, which hinders scaling up. Ravical tries to turn that expertise into a shared way of working. The platform ensures that the way the best people work is carried out by the AI for a firm’s entire client base.

The technology is already active at several clients in Belgium and the Netherlands. Some firms report that their income from tax planning has risen by 49 percent as a result. In the coming months, Ravical will focus on entering the American market.
