Anthropic, Microsoft, and Nvidia join forces in a new partnership.
Microsoft, Nvidia, and Anthropic have announced new strategic partnerships to expand access to the Claude AI model and scale the necessary computing infrastructure. Microsoft will invest approximately $5 billion in Anthropic, while Nvidia will contribute $10 billion. In return, Anthropic will run its models on Microsoft Azure, utilizing Nvidia hardware. The AI company is making significant investments in cloud capacity for this purpose.
Scaling via Azure
Anthropic has committed to purchasing $30 billion in computing capacity from Microsoft Azure. In addition, it will reserve computing power up to one gigawatt to support future growth. This computing infrastructure will be powered by Nvidia Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems, among others.

For the first time, Nvidia and Anthropic are embarking on an intensive collaboration focused on model optimization. Both companies will collaborate on design and engineering to better align Claude models with Nvidia hardware. Simultaneously, Nvidia will optimize future architectures for use with Anthropic’s models.
Claude on Multiple Locations
Microsoft and Anthropic are also expanding their existing collaboration. Claude models, including Claude Sonnet 4.5, Opus 4.1, and Haiku 4.5, will be available to Microsoft Foundry customers. This makes Claude the only frontier model accessible through the three largest cloud platforms worldwide.
In addition, Claude remains integrated into Microsoft products such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio. This gives Azure customers access to a broader range of AI models, including Claude-specific functionality.
