Darktrace Acquires Mira Security to Expand its Network Security and Visibility Offerings

Darktrace acquires Mira Security to strengthen its network security offerings. Mira specifically possesses capabilities in encrypted network traffic visibility and support for regulated sectors.

Darktrace announces the acquisition of Mira Security, a company specializing in network traffic visibility. The acquisition builds on an existing collaboration between the two parties. Darktrace aims to provide customers with more insight into encrypted network traffic, which is particularly important for clients in highly regulated sectors such as financial services, government, and critical infrastructure.

Mira Security’s technology enables inline decryption without impacting network performance or requiring significant architectural changes. By integrating this technology more closely with Darktrace’s existing analytics functions, the company aims to offer deeper and broader visibility across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Expansion of R

Mira Security’s engineering team, based in South Africa and the United States, joins Darktrace’s R department. The team’s expertise in network acceleration and protocol development is expected to contribute to the further development of Darktrace solutions, including support for 100 Gbps network interfaces.

Darktrace states that this acquisition is part of its broader investment strategy in both organic growth and acquisitions. Previously, it also acquired Cado Security to strengthen its cloud offerings. Mira Security’s customers will continue to be supported, and Mira’s solutions will be integrated into Darktrace’s broader offerings.
