Apple is not on the list of signatories for the AI Act. Other tech giants including Google and OpenAI did join.
Apple continues to turn its back on the EU. For example, the company excludes Europe with its new Apple Intelligence, which can be used anywhere but Europe. Meanwhile, there is a new AI Act in the EU, but again Apple seems to oppose this as well as Meta, according to Politico. However, other big players are involved in this, including OpenAI and Google.
AI Act without Apple
The European AI Act is a European Union initiative to draft measures on artificial intelligence. 115 companies have already signed on to the European AI Act. These companies are not few and far between and play a major role in the AI world market. Who was missing from the list of signatories shown Wednesday in Brussels? Apple.
