Apple raises prices across the range by 100 euros or more

The Apple MacBook Neo aims to entice PC users with its low entry price.

Apple is implementing a significant price increase across its entire global range. Budget-friendly MacBook Neo is becoming nearly fifteen percent more expensive as a result.

Apple is increasing the prices of its existing range worldwide. Recently introduced devices are also becoming more expensive. Only the iPhone and a few gadgets are being spared for the time being.

The most striking change is the price increase for the MacBook Neo. Apple introduced it just four months ago with a suggested retail price of 699 euros for the entry-level model. At that price point, the laptop was a clear bargain. Today, the base version of the MacBook Neo is suddenly nearly fifteen percent more expensive: the entry-level model now costs 799 euros.

The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with the new M5 processor are also affected. For example, the MacBook Pro with M5 Pro cost 2,549 euros at launch and is now only available starting from 2,949. The more powerful your device configuration, the more significant the price increase becomes.

AI and memory shortage

The cause is easy to guess. Apple also has to pay more for limited memory availability. In that respect, Apple computers are no different from Windows laptops. The unrestrained construction of AI data centers ensures that available memory production capacity is being swallowed up.

Apple is now passing on those additional costs. While this is logical for a price-conscious device like the MacBook Neo, the price increase for more high-end models is still significant. After all, memory prices were already very high when these devices were first brought to market.

Apple is increasing the prices of its range worldwide. In the US, devices are becoming equivalently more expensive in dollars.
