Two standard integrated applications slow down Windows 11

The Windows 11 operating program slows down due to two applications installed by default. Not using the applications brings no relief.

A new report brings out that two Windows 11 applications are at the root of a slower PC. The applications in question are the Teams and widget application in the Windows 11 taskbar, and the problem is also said to be with users who never use either application. Disconnecting or removing the applications from the taskbar is enough to improve your PC’s performance.

Problem in the background

As soon as a user opens one of these applications, Windows 11 starts a process called WebView2. That process lets the opened application use technologies from Edge, without actually opening Edge.

Out of Office Hours tested the effect of both applications on computer performance. It showed that several WebView2 processes started as soon as an application went live. Each process again took up several hundred megabytes of RAM.

Windows 11 will soon get its first major update since its official launch. However, many users continue to run the older operating system Windows 10, although Microsoft does not like to boast exact numbers of users on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
