OnePlus launches its latest high-end device. The device features a triple-chip architecture, a 7300mAh battery, a redesigned camera system, and new AI functions.

OnePlus has just officially launched its latest flagship. The device appeared in China at the end of October, and the global launch follows just two weeks later. The manufacturer is releasing two high-end devices in one calendar year, after the OnePlus 13 that we saw in the Benelux region earlier this year.

Anyone who keeps track of the version numbers will notice that OnePlus has skipped a number. The latest device is not called OnePlus 14, because OnePlus is immediately jumping to 15. This time, that has nothing to do with Chinese superstition (four is an unlucky number in Eastern culture). According to the manufacturer, the OnePlus is such a significant upgrade compared to OnePlus 13 that it is taking two steps forward.

Focus on Power and Endurance

Complicated numbering aside, the OnePlus 15 boasts impressive specifications. It will be the first smartphone to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile chipset. OnePlus complements this with a separate chip for touch sensitivity and its own Wi-Fi module.

OnePlus claims that this triple architecture should ensure stable performance during intensive use, such as gaming or multitasking. The manufacturer also developed a new cooling system with materials normally found in aerospace, such as an aerogel insulation layer and white graphite.

Muscle power is linked to endurance. The battery has a capacity of 7,300 mAh and supports both 120 W fast charging, if you have a SuperVooc charger from the brand, and 50 W wireless charging. Only the battery of the Oppo Find X9 Pro is slightly larger at 7,500 mAh. According to the manufacturer, the battery retains at least 80 percent of its capacity after four years.

Image and Camera

The device is equipped with a 6.78-inch LTPO display with a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The screen offers space for 1,272 x 2,772 pixels. The maximum brightness is 1800 nits, while the minimum brightness drops to 1 nit. The screen carries the TÜV Rheinland certification for eye comfort.

The device’s housing is water and dust resistant and meets multiple IP classifications, including IP69K. This means that the device is protected against powerful water jets and immersion. On the European eco-classification for smartphones, the OnePlus 15 achieves the highest A-rating.

In terms of camera, OnePlus opts for a triple 50 MP configuration: a main camera with optical stabilization, an ultra-wide-angle lens with autofocus, and a periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. AI-driven software functions improve image processing in various lighting conditions.

Oxygen

With OxygenOS 16, OnePlus is also making the leap to Android 16. The software is packed with AI functions for text generation, transcriptions of recordings, image optimization, and integrations with Gemini. The OnePlus 15 supports Dual App Control and Parallel Processing, allowing users to use multiple apps simultaneously without delay.

With four Android updates and six years of security updates, OnePlus adheres to the European standard, but it is still less than the seven years of support that most high-end devices now receive.

Price and availability

The device appears in three colors: black, white, and purple. The suggested retail price is 1099 euros incl. VAT for the model with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. The version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage costs 949 euros incl. VAT. This keeps OnePlus below the price of sister brand Oppo’s new top model, which costs 1,299 euros and 999 euros in the same configurations.
