MSI introduces brand new line of business laptops: Venture

MSI is launching a whole new lineup of business devices under the name Venture. Venture joins a now wide range of sub-brands within the MSI range.

MSI is introducing a new laptop family at CES: Venture. Venture and variant VenturePro include a diversity of devices. MSI thus targets both business users and creative professionals.

A lineup of families

Venture joins Modern, Summit, Creator, Commercial and Prestige, all of which are also aimed at (semi)professional users. It doesn’t really get any clearer, as there isn’t really a clear line to draw between the different families.

Thus, Venture laptops from 14 inches to 17 inches appear with integrated graphics, but you can also find them with Modern and Summit, among others. Along the other hand, at VenturePro we see laptops starting from 15 inches and Nvidia GPUs, but we also know such specifications from Creator and Prestige.

We contacted MSI asking to clarify the Venture line in this context of other laptop families and discovered the following: Venture sits between the Modern and Prestige series, and so is more robust than a Modern laptop but not as Premium as Prestige. The devices are based on the Cyborg chassis of the gaming lineup, and so can benefit from MSI’s Coolerboost technology. They also have Killer Wi-Fi 7 on board. Despite those little bits of DNA from MSI’s gaming range, they are purely business and usable as mobile workstations thanks to the GPU options.

MSI Venture

MSI is using CES to launch seven devices within its new Venture range. First, there are the regular Venture laptops (without Pro). All of these devices are configurable with a first-generation Intel Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7. Graphics power comes from the GPU built into the chip, and you can install up to 96 GB of RAM in two slots.

The devices are available in four sizes with a big impact on how you can use the laptop, as the size is related to the available screen ratio, screen technology and resolution:

  • Venture 14 AI A1MG – 14 inches: 16:10, 2,800 x 1,800 pixels, OLED
  • Venture 15 AI A1MG – 15.6 inches: 16:9, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, IPS
  • Venture 16 AI A1MG – 16.2 inches: 16:10, 2,048 x 1,280 pixels, OLED
  • Venture 17 AI A1MG – 17.3 inches, 16:9, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, IPS

MSI VenturePro

Then there are the VenturePro devices. Of these, MSI provides three: a 14-inch VenturePro does not currently exist; the other screen diagonals are available.

  • VenturePro 15 AI – 15.6 inches: 16:9, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, IPS
  • VenturePro 15 AI – 16.2 inches: 16:10, 2,048 x 1,280 pixels, OLED
  • VenturePro 15 AI – 17.3 inches, 16:9, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, IPS

All laptops are configurable with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, for the VenturePro 15 you can also choose a Core Ultra 5 125H. The entire VenturePro range can accommodate an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 or RTX 4050, but you can also equip the VenturePro 15 and VenturePro 17 with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050. Again, 96 GB of RAM is the maximum for the entire range.

Not state-of-the-art

Looking at the specifications, we see that Venture(Pro) is immediately a relatively comprehensive range. MSI provides a wide range of formats, with and without a GPU. It is noticeable, however, that Venture is not equipped with the most modern hardware. MSI resolutely chooses Intel processors from the previous generation and not from the Intel Core Ultra 200 series, and also the RTX 40-GPUs are no longer the most modern of their kind in the meantime. After all, Nvidia launched RTX-50 at CES.
