LG has unveiled a 32-inch 6K monitor at CES 2025 that supports Thunderbolt 5.
At CES 2025, LG has unveiled a new UltraFine monitor that stands out for its thin design and advanced specifications. The 32-inch screen is the first 6K monitor to support Thunderbolt 5, as previously reported by MacRumors.
Few details known for now
LG claims that thanks to Thunderbolt 5, the monitor offers an impressive data rate of up to 80 Gbps, or even 120 Gbps with Intel’s Bandwidth Boost mode. The display features a “Nano IPS Black” panel, which LG says provides exceptional color accuracy and high contrast. With 99.5 percent Adobe RGB and 98 percent DCI-P3 coverage, this monitor is ideal for creative professionals.
However, many details remain unknown, such as refresh rate and availability. For comparison, the 32-inch 6K Dell UltraSharp monitor, which also uses an IPS Black screen from LG, costs $2,479.99. This gives an indication of the possible price range of the new LG UltraFine monitor.
It is not the first 6K monitor released by LG, but it is the first with Thunderbolt 5. Thunderbolt 5 support is gaining ground, with the arrival of new cables and docks in the past year. Apple’s latest MacBook Pro and Mac Mini models also support this technology.
