Acer is unpacking three new Chromebooks. The devices are aimed at workers in hybrid work environments and students.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 513, the Acer Chromebook 315 and the Acer Chromebook 314 will still make their appearance in European stores this spring.
Under 400 euros
On paper, the Acer Chromebook 315 seems to have the most going for it. The device has a 15-inch, 1080p non-reflective screen. On the left and right sides of the device, Acer has equipped it with a USB Type-C Gen 2 port. In addition, a microSD card reader is provided.
On the inside, the Chromebook gets a Pentium Silver processor from Intel. Intel introduced these processors in January 2021. The CPUs should mainly drive lightweight hardware and focus on smooth multitasking, browsing and now more than ever virtual meetings. Therefore, the processors are mainly suitable for Chromebooks.
The device starts at a price of 399 euros and will be available in Europe by the end of the first quarter. Of the three new models, the Acer Chromebook 315 is the only one to come with a numeric keyboard.
The Acer Chromebook 314 is just a tad cheaper (starting at 369 euros). The screen also just a tad smaller, at 14-inches. A non-reflective top layer is also applied over the screen. This should keep the screen clearly visible on sunny days. On the side, the Chromebook is equipped with two USB Type-C ports. The device will make its entry into the European market in April 2022.
Acer Chromebook Spin 513
Finally, Acer is introducing a new Chromebook Spin. That device users can completely flip over to continue working in tablet mode. Consequently, the screen is smaller at 13.5-inches. In terms of screen resolution, this device does not compromise, at 2256×1504.
On the inside, the device is equipped with a MediaTek Kompanio 1380 processor. The side is equipped with only one USB Type-C port. The Acer Chromebook Spin 513 will also be available in Europe from April, starting at 649 euros.
